Loved pink as a girl, like lots of other girls and the brighter the better.  One of my favorite zoo animals was the pink flamingo because of its grace and of course, pink feathers.  One of my group of zoo animals, through the eyes of a child.

What colors go together and why.  I know that there is a color wheel and all the talk about certain colors go together and other don't, but I find that it is far more fun to just go with what feels right.  I know Giraffes are not generally pink, orange and gold but thought it would be fun to make them so.   My goal was to create the "feel" that I had while visiting the zoo as a child. Seeing through the eyes of a child make life anything but boring!

With summer in full swing and all the fun activities that go with it I just had to play with this photograph.  I used a photo oil paint finish and love the bright bold colors.  Colors that remind me of childhood and fun times.

Winter Reflections

The thunder sounds and lightening lights up the still dark sky this early morning.  While we are technically officially in mid-winter, most days are still fairly warm here in Texas and fall leaves still cover the soggy ground.  As I look at this blanket of leaves I am brought back to another time, a time when my home was filled with children and the joy they had in creating their own rain with fall leaves.  Curled up by the fireplace on this wet winter day is a good time to reflect on the lives that have touched ours and the sweet memories we hold dear of the ones we love.
